The JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard® is JetBlue’s brand new premium credit card offering future JetBlue lounge access and Priority Pass membership as its main travel perks. The card has limited immediate value since the first JetBlue lounge won’t open until late 2025, though you’ll earn bonus points on JetBlue purchases and get some basic travel benefits.
This credit card review will cover everything you need to know about this card to determine if you should add this card or a different card to your wallet. Let’s dive right in.
Welcome Bonus of JetBlue Premier
The JetBlue Premier Mastercard currently offers the following welcome bonus: Earn 70,000 bonus points + 5 tiles after spending $5,000 on purchases and paying the annual fee in full, both within the first 90 days.
Before getting too excited about this bonus, make sure you’re eligible. Previous or current JetBlue Plus cardholders aren’t able to earn these bonus points according to the card terms. This restriction is something to consider if you’ve had JetBlue cards in your wallet before.
Earning Points with the JetBlue Premier
The JetBlue Premier Mastercard earns TrueBlue points at the following rates:
- 6x points per $1 spent on eligible JetBlue and Paisly purchases including JetBlue Vacations;
- 2x points per $1 spent at restaurants and eligible grocery stores; and
- 1x points per $1 spent on all other purchases.
This rewards structure lacks differentiation from JetBlue’s less premium cards, making it difficult to justify the higher annual fee purely from an earning perspective. While 6x on JetBlue purchases is solid, many transferable points cards offer similar or better returns on travel, dining, and groceries with more flexibility.
For everyday spending, you’ll find better value with cards offering transferable currencies or higher multipliers in bonus categories. The base earning rate of 1x on non-bonus spending is particularly underwhelming for a premium card at this price point.
JetBlue Premier Annual Fee
The JetBlue Premier Card charges a $499 annual fee for the primary cardmember. Several benefits help offset this cost, including Priority Pass lounge membership, up to $300 in Paisly credits annually, JetBlue lounge access (coming in 2025), and a free first checked bag for you and up to three companions.
Each authorized user will cost an additional $150 annually, and they’ll receive key perks like lounge access and Priority Pass membership.
JetBlue Premier Card Benefits
The JetBlue Premier card offers the following benefits and perks:
JetBlue Lounge Access: Cardmembers receive entry to JetBlue’s new lounges at JFK Terminal 5 (opening late 2025) and Boston Logan (opening date TBA). Access includes entry for the cardmember and one guest.
Travel Credits: This card includes Paisly travel credits of up to $300 annually. These credits are distributed as $50 statement credits for qualifying purchases of $250 or more, which you can use up to six times per calendar year when booking hotels, car rentals, and activities through Paisly.
Priority Pass: Enjoy complimentary Priority Pass™ membership, granting you unlimited access to over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide upon enrollment. Escape the hustle and bustle of the terminal and relax in a comfortable lounge with amenities like free Wi-Fi, food, and drinks.
Free Checked Bag: Save money on every trip with a free first checked bag for you and up to three companions on your reservation. This applies to all JetBlue-operated flights when you use your card for the ticket purchase.
Priority Boarding: Skip the lines with Group A boarding privileges on all JetBlue flights. This perk extends to up to four travel companions on your reservation, getting you settled in sooner.
In-Flight Savings: Enjoy 50% off all eligible food and drink purchases during JetBlue flights. This discount applies automatically when you use your card onboard.
Points Redemption Bonus: Get more value from your points with a 10% rebate on all points redeemed for JetBlue award flights. Plus, receive 5,000 bonus points each year after your account anniversary.
Elite Status Acceleration: Progress toward Mosaic status faster by earning 1 tile for every $1,000 in card spending. Your card spending combines with flight activity to help you reach elite status sooner.
Global Entry / TSA PreCheck Credit: This card offers a credit for TSA PreCheck (expedited airport security) or Global Entry (expedited airport security and customs).
Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance: This protection reimburses you for non-refundable, prepaid travel expenses if you need to cancel before departure or cut your trip short due to covered situations like severe illness or weather events. Coverage activates when you pay for your trip with the card, but it’s important to note that reimbursement only applies for specific covered reasons rather than any cancellation.
No Foreign Transaction Fees: You’ll save money on every purchase while traveling internationally since this card doesn’t add the typical 3% surcharge that many other cards impose.
World Elite Benefits: This card is a World Elite Mastercard, which gets you access to these special benefits and discounts: DoorDash ($5 off your first DoorDash order each month), Lyft (Take 3 rides in one month and earn a $5 Lyft credit), Shoprunner (free two-day shipping), and Fandango (spend $20 and get $5 back).
Redeeming JetBlue TrueBlue Points
JetBlue TrueBlue offers a straightforward rewards program with flexible redemption options. Members can redeem points for any seat on JetBlue flights, with no blackout dates. The program uses a revenue-based model, typically offering solid value for economy bookings. In fact, our analysis shows that TrueBlue points are worth approximately 1.31 cents each when redeemed for economy flights. This value proposition makes TrueBlue points particularly attractive for budget-conscious travelers. For those seeking premium travel experiences, TrueBlue points can be used for JetBlue’s Mint business class, though the redemption value is generally lower, averaging about 1.1 cents per point. Despite this lower redemption rate, the program truly shines with its partnership redemptions, particularly with Qatar Airways. Members can book Qatar Airways flights directly through JetBlue’s website, often securing excellent value for long-haul business class travel. Another notable partner is Hawaiian Airlines, offering opportunities for inter-island hops and flights between Hawaii and the U.S. mainland. These redemptions can provide good value, especially during peak travel periods when cash fares are high. TrueBlue’s user-friendly features include points that never expire and fee-free changes or cancellations on award bookings. This flexibility allows members to book with confidence, knowing they can adjust their plans if needed. While JetBlue doesn’t belong to a major airline alliance, its partnerships with Qatar Airways and Hawaiian Airlines expand redemption options beyond JetBlue’s network. This combination of simplicity, flexibility, and strategic partnerships makes TrueBlue an appealing program for both casual and frequent travelers, offering consistent value for economy redemptions and unique opportunities for premium travel experiences.

JetBlue Benefits: Cardholders get free checked bags for the cardholder and three companions, Group A boarding, and 50% off inflight purchases improve the travel experience.
Authorized User Benefits: For $150, authorized users receive key benefits including lounge access, Priority Pass membership, and Group A boarding privileges.
Cons:
Annual Fee: The $499 annual fee, combined with $150 for authorized users, is high if you can’t offset it with by frequently using the card’s benefits.
Limited Premium Value: Many benefits mirror the less expensive JetBlue Plus card, making it difficult to justify the significantly higher annual fee.
Separate Credits: The $300 Paisly credit is divided into six $50 credits, each requiring a $250 minimum purchase, which may limit practical usage. It also does not work for flights, only for hotels, rental cars, and activities.
Delayed Key Benefit: The signature JetBlue lounge access benefit won’t be available until the first lounge opens in late 2025.

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card (review) delivers both everyday value with unlimited 2x miles on purchases and premium comfort through comprehensive airport lounge access for you upon enrollment. You’ll also receive $300 in annual travel credits plus 10,000 anniversary bonus miles, creating substantial ongoing value. Welcome Bonus: Earn 75,000 bonus miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months. Earning Rewards: 10x miles on hotels and rental cars and 5x miles on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel; 2x miles on all other purchases. Is the JetBlue Premier Worth It?
After looking at the new JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard, I’m taking a wait-and-see approach before recommending it.
The $499 annual fee premium card sets high expectations, but its main selling point – JetBlue lounge access – won’t be available until late 2025 at JFK and Boston.
The $300 annual Paisly credit is split into six separate $50 credits that only trigger on purchases of $250 or more, making it less flexible than travel credits offered by competing cards. Plus, you can’t use the credit for JetBlue flights, only rental cars, hotels, and activities.
The welcome bonus could provide good value, but unfortunately excludes current and previous JetBlue Plus cardmembers – exactly the loyal customers who might be most interested in this card.
For now, I’d suggest most travelers hold off on applying until the lounges open and we can better evaluate the full value of this premium card offering.
