Card Benefits and Perks

The IHG Premier Business offers the following benefits and perks:

Each year on your cardmember anniversary, you’ll receive a free night award valid for a single night, worth up to 40,000 points for just holding the card.

Plus, you can earn a second free night if you spend $60,000 on the card in a calendar year.

Since many hotel nights cost more than $100 a night, this is a really valuable benefit.

Plus, if you want to use your free night award at a property that costs more than 40,000 points per night, you can use an unlimited number of points to top off this certificate.

For example, if you find a room for 50,000 points, you can combine the free night with 10,000 points from your IHG account to confirm the reservation.

The IHG Premier Business offers automatic IHG Platinum status.

The benefits of IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status include space available room upgrades, 60% points bonus, late checkout, and a welcome amenity.

You can save a lot of points on award stays by taking advantage of this card’s fourth night free on hotel stays using points.

For example, if you had a 4 night stay at 50,000 points per night, it would cost only 150,000 points instead of 200,000 points.

If you spend $40,000 in a calendar year on the IHG Premier Business you can obtain IHG Diamond elite status until December 31st of the following year.

The benefits of IHG Diamond Elite status include 100% points bonus, complimentary upgrades, a welcome amenity, complimentary breakfast, early check-in, and late check-out.

If you spend $20,000 on this card in a calendar year, you will receive a $100 Statement Credit + 10,000 Points.

You can receive up to $50 in United Airlines’ TravelBank credit each calendar year after registering your IHG Premier Business card with your United MileagePlus account.

You can save 20% when you purchase points with your IHG Rewards Premier Business credit card.

The downside is that the 20% savings is on the standard price and does not provide additional savings on when IHG points are on sale.

Global Entry / TSA PreCheck / Nexus Credit: This card offers a credit for either TSA PreCheck (expedited airport security), Global Entry (expedited airport security and customs), or NEXUS (expedited crossing between US and Canada).

No Foreign Transaction Fees: You can make international purchases with your card without paying an extra fee of around 3%.

Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance reimburses you for non-refundable expenses if your trip is interrupted or canceled for a covered reason when you pay for your travel expenses with this card.

Purchase Protection covers eligible purchases against accidental damage or theft for up to 120 days for purchases this card.

Redeem IHG One Rewards Points

IHG One Rewards points can be used at over 6,000 hotels worldwide, including several brands like Kimpton, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn, and more.

IHG uses dynamic pricing for award nights, which means the number of points required varies depending on the hotel, date, and demand. You can check the price and availability of award nights on the IHG website or app by selecting the “Reward Nights” option.

To redeem IHG points for a hotel stay, you need at least 5,000 points. You can also use Points & Cash to pay for part of your stay in points and the rest in cash. This can help you save money and stretch your points further.

Besides hotel stays, you can also redeem your IHG points for other things, such as experiences, gift cards, merchandise, donations, or airline miles. However, these options usually offer lower value for your points and may have limited availability or restrictions.
