When Do IHG Rewards Points Expire?

Deals Points has partnered with CardRatings for our coverage of credit card products. Deals Points and CardRatings may receive a commission from card issuers. Opinions and recommendations are ours alone. Terms apply to the offers. See our Advertising Disclosure for more information.

IHG Rewards points expire 12 months after account inactivity, but you extend the expiration by earning or redeeming one point.

IHG points also won’t expire if you are an IHG elite member, which you can earn easily by holding the Chase IHG Rewards Premier or IHG Rewards Traveler credit card.

Due to COVID-19, IHG paused the expiration of all IHG points to June 30, 2021.
