Hyatt’s first global promotion of 2026 is live, and it’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from hotel promos these days: solid but unspectacular. You can earn up to 28,000 bonus points for stays through mid-April, which translates to roughly $400 in value if you max it out.
Here’s the catch: the promotion rewards stays in increments of three nights, so partial stays earn you nothing. If you’re planning Hyatt stays anyway, this is free money. If you’re on the fence, the math might not be compelling enough to change your plans.
How the World of Hyatt Bonus Journeys Promotion Works
This promotion runs from February 2 through April 15, 2026, and you’ll need to register before your first eligible stay. The earning structure has two tiers that can stack together.
The main tier awards 3,000 bonus points for every three eligible nights at any Hyatt property worldwide. You can earn this bonus up to seven times, maxing out at 21,000 bonus points after 21 nights.
The second tier adds 1,000 bonus points for every three nights at Hyatt Place and Hyatt Select properties, capping at 7,000 additional points. These bonuses combine, so a Hyatt Place stay earns you both the 3,000-point bonus and the 1,000-point bonus—a total of 4,000 points per three nights.
Here’s the deal: Your nights don’t need to be consecutive. Three one-night stays count the same as one three-night stay. Award nights and free night certificates also qualify, which effectively gives you a rebate on points redemptions.

The Fine Print You Need to Know
Several details could trip you up if you’re not paying attention.
Registration is mandatory. You must register before your first eligible stay, though stays booked prior to registration still count as long as the actual nights fall within the promotion window. Do yourself a favor and register now, even if you’re not sure about your travel plans.
Checkout date matters. Eligibility is based on when you check out, not when you check in. A stay starting April 14 and ending April 16 won’t count toward this promotion.
Only one room qualifies. If you book multiple rooms on the same reservation, only one room earns the bonus points. This hurts families or groups traveling together.
Direct bookings only. Stays at Mr & Mrs Smith properties, the Venetian Resort, and Homes & Hideaways must be booked through Hyatt’s channels to qualify. Third-party bookings don’t count.
Points will post to your account within two to three weeks after you complete an eligible stay.
Which Properties Qualify for the Extra 1,000-Point Bonus
The additional 1,000-point bonus applies to Hyatt Place and Hyatt Select stays. In practice, this means Hyatt Place for most travelers.
Here’s the reality: Hyatt Select is a brand-new addition to the portfolio, and it currently has just two locations—one in St. Louis, Missouri and one in Richmond, Virginia. Unless you happen to be visiting either city, the Hyatt Select portion of this promotion is essentially irrelevant.
The good news is that Hyatt Place has an enormous global footprint. You can realistically earn the full 28,000 bonus points without needing to plan a trip specifically for St. Louis or Richmond.
It’s worth noting that Hyatt is clearly trying to incentivize stays at its newest brand. If the footprint expands during the promotion window, more options could become available.
Other Ways to Stack Value During This Promotion
This Bonus Journeys promotion works well alongside several other Hyatt offers.
The Brand Explorer promotion gives you a free Category 1-4 night certificate when you stay at five different Hyatt brands for the first time. If you’re already planning to explore new brands for this promotion, you’re effectively doubling your value.
Hyatt also offers 500 bonus points for stays at newly opened properties. Combining a new hotel stay with this promotion and Brand Explorer progress creates a nice triple-dip opportunity.
For those looking to top off their points balance, you have several paths:
- World of Hyatt Credit Card (personal and business versions)
- Chase Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve
- Ink Business Preferred, Ink Business Unlimited, and Ink Business Cash
- Chase Freedom Unlimited
Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio, which remains one of the best uses of flexible points in my book.
Hyatt also frequently runs points sales, which can be worth considering if you’re short of a redemption goal.
The Verdict
World of Hyatt’s Bonus Journeys promotion offers up to 28,000 bonus points for stays between February 2 and April 15, 2026. The incremental value works out to roughly $14-20 per night depending on the property type and your point valuation. It’s not a game-changer, but it’s solid—and certainly worth registering for even if you’re not sure about upcoming travel.
The three-night threshold is the main limitation here, as single and two-night stays earn you nothing toward this bonus.
