One thing that sets Hyatt apart from other hotel programs is the ability to redeem points for suites, either through free night awards or upgrade awards, typically at a 50-100% premium over standard rooms. You can also book Points + Cash stays, combining points with a discounted cash rate. Dining and spa awards let you apply points toward on-property charges, generally worth around 1 to 1.5 cents each.
Hyatt's acquisition of Mr & Mrs Smith opened up points redemptions at independent luxury properties, though pricing is dynamic and tends to be a weaker value than standard hotel stays.
You won't pay resort or destination fees on points bookings, and Globalist members skip these fees on cash stays too. Members can also combine points with another account when they're short for a specific redemption.
