How to Earn Hyatt Elite Status
To earn World of Hyatt elite status, you need to earn either a certain number of nights, base points, or host several meetings or events:
Discoverist = 10 Nights or 25,000 Base Points or 3 Meetings & Events.
Explorist = 30 Nights or 50,000 Base Points or 10 Meetings & Events.
Globalist = 60 Nights or 100,000 Base Points or 20 Meetings & Events.
Lifetime Globalist = 1,000,000 Base Points.
Hyatt members earn 5 Base Points per dollar on room rates, dining purchases, spa treatments, and other eligible expenses (excluding taxes and fees) at participating World of Hyatt hotels.
To earn status via Base Points, you would need to spend $20,000 for Globalist, $10,000 for Explorist, and $5,000 for Discoverist.
There are also several ways to help you obtain elite status or get automatic elite status:
- World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (review) = Automatic Hyatt Discoverist status and five elite night credits for every $10,000 spent per year.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card (review) = Automatic Hyatt Discoverist status and five elite night credits each year. Plus, you can earn two elite night credits for every $5,000 you spend on the card per year.
Hyatt Globalist Benefits
World of Hyatt Globalist elite members enjoy these benefits:
30% Points Bonus: Globalist members earn 6.5 points per dollar (a 30% bonus) when staying at Hyatt properties.
Room Upgrades: Globalist members receive space-available upgrades to the best available room, including standard suites and rooms with Club access. Premium, Specialty, Premier, Presidential, Diplomatic, and other suites other than Standard Suites are not included in this benefit.
- Excluded Brands: Caption by Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Destination by Hyatt Residences, or Hyatt Vacation Club hotels and resorts.
Free Breakfast: Globalists will receive complimentary access to the Club lounge if available. If a hotel doesn’t have a Club lounge, then Globalist will receive daily complimentary full breakfast (which includes one entrée or standard breakfast buffet, juice, and coffee, as well as tax, gratuity and service charges) for each registered guest in the room, up to a maximum of two (2) adults and two (2) children.
- Exception: Not valid at Miraval, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, or Hyatt Vacation Club hotels and resorts, at the Laurel Inn, Ventana Campground, or at any Destination by Hyatt Residences location.
Milestone Rewards: Hyatt rewards its members with Milestone Rewards for every 10 nights they earn above 20 nights or 35,000 base points each year. Benefits include extra points, experience credit, Guest of Honor awards (gift of elite status for stay), suite upgrades, and more.
Late Checkout: Enjoy a 4:00 PM late checkout at most participating hotel brands.
Free Parking on Awards: Globalists receive free parking when redeeming their points for hotel stays.
Bottled Water: Globalist members receive a complimentary bottle of water for each day at participating locations.
Priority Access: If a Globalist attempts to check in at a hotel and the room is unavailable, Globalist members will be offered the first room of that category that becomes available.
48-Hour Guaranteed Rooms: Globalists will be guaranteed at room at Hyatt Hotels when making a paid reservation at least 48 hours before arrival. However, the guarantee is not valid during any period of extraordinary demand and subject to blackout dates by the hotel.
American Airlines Bonus: Elite members can earn 1 World of Hyatt bonus point for every $1 spent on American Airlines when you link your accounts.
