How to Earn Hyatt Elite Status
To earn World of Hyatt elite status, you need to earn either a certain number of nights, base points, or host several meetings or events:
Discoverist = 10 Nights or 25,000 Base Points or 3 Meetings & Events.
Explorist = 30 Nights or 50,000 Base Points or 10 Meetings & Events.
Globalist = 60 Nights or 100,000 Base Points or 20 Meetings & Events.
Lifetime Globalist = 1,000,000 Base Points.
Hyatt members earn 5 Base Points per dollar on room rates, dining purchases, spa treatments, and other eligible expenses (excluding taxes and fees) at participating World of Hyatt hotels.
To earn status via Base Points, you would need to spend $20,000 for Globalist, $10,000 for Explorist, and $5,000 for Discoverist.

- World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (review) = Automatic Hyatt Discoverist status and five elite night credits for every $10,000 spent per year.
- World of Hyatt Credit Card (review) = Automatic Hyatt Discoverist status and five elite night credits each year. Plus, you can earn two elite night credits for every $5,000 you spend on the card per year.

10% Points Bonus: Discoverist members earn 5.5 points per dollar (a 10% bonus) when staying at Hyatt properties.
Room Upgrades: Discoverist members receive space-available upgrades to preferred rooms within the same category, which are generally those with a preferred view or location.
