United Airlines Polaris Flight and Lounge Guide


Polaris is United attempt to offer a competitive business class offering. Polaris Business Class offers direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 configuration, whereas United’s old business class was in an outdated a 2-2-2 configuration. 

Amenities: Polaris business class has seen a good number of cuts in the past year. Some amenities are no longer advertised, but you can request the following ones: slippers, cooling gel memory foam pillow, mattress pad, pajamas (if over 12 hours long), custom pre-departure beverages (instead of sparkling wine or water, which will be offered), wine flights, mimosas, and mid-flight snacks.

Polaris Lounges Information and Reviews

Polaris lounges are United’s premium lounges, whereas United Clubs are basic airport lounges. Currently, only ORD, SFO, and EWR are open, but IAH will open summer of 2018. You can follow the status of the lounges on the Polaris tracker. Access is limited to Polaris First or Star Alliance First class with one guest, or Polaris Business or Star Alliance Business without guest access.
