Hotel Stays Award Chart

Below is the World of Hyatt award chart. You can search hotels by category online. That interactive chart is very useful when trying to book using your free night certificate from the Chase Hyatt card or from reaching elite status milestones. You can also redeem points for all-inclusive hotels (see chart below) and paying half the cash rate plus a fixed number of points with Hyatt’s a “Cash + Points” booking (see chart below)

Miraval Resorts

Miraval resorts cost 45,000 points for a standard night, 75,000 points for a standard suite, and 105,000 points for a premium suite. You also have to pay an additional 20,000 points for a second guest.

Suite Upgrades from Cash Bookings

If you book an eligible rate you can upgrade your room for a per night rate of: 3,000 points for Regency Club/Grand Club Upgrade, 6,000 points for Suite Upgrade, and 9,000 points for a Premium Suite Upgrade.

Small Luxury Hotels of the World

You can also soon be able to redeem your points for Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties. Those properties will be in Category 8 requiring 40,000 points per night when Hyatt completes the sale and integration of SLH.

Points + Cash

Hyatt also allows you to pay with Points plus cash. This award previously was a great deal because the cash portion was fixed per category. Now, you are required to pay half of the standard rate plus a fixed rate of points

Convert Hyatt Points to Airline Points

You can also transfer your Hyatt points to airline points. There is a 5,000 airline point bonus if you transfer 50,000 Hyatt points, which would mean you could transfer 50,000 Hyatt points for 25,000 airlines points. Hyatt points have a high point value when redeemed for hotels, so transferring points only really makes sense for Japan Airlines (2.5 to 1 ratio) or Virgin Atlantic (5 to 3 ratio).

Other Ways to Use Hyatt Points

FIND Experiences

Hyatt launched an experiences marketplace called FIND, where you can both earn and use points. You can earn 10 Hyatt points per dollar spent, but only redeem points for 1.4 cents per point. I would not recommend you use points in this manner since you can easily get at least 1.8 cents per point in value when redeeming points for hotel stays.

Exhale Spas

You can redeem 2,000 points for a fitness class, 12,000 points for a 60-minute massage, or 12,000 points for a 60-minute facial. (That is equivalent to approximately 1.5 cents per point for a fitness class, and 1.25 cents for facial or massage. I think redeeming points for a hotel stay is a better option considering if you paid for a $150 massage using your World of Hyatt credit card, you would earn 2,100 Hyatt points for no elite status and 2,550 if you had Globalist status)
