Hotel Elite Status From Credit Cards

Several credit cards offer elite status with different hotel chains so that you don’t have to stay 25 nights a year to enjoy elite status. All you need to do is hold the credit card. Elite Status can get you an upgraded room, freebies, better service, and you earn more points when you stay. 

Hilton Elite Status

  • Silver (requires 10 nights or 4 stays per year)
    • American Express Hilton Honors ($0 annual fee)(or Gold if you spend $20,000 in a calendar year)
  • Gold (requires 40 nights or 20 stays per year)
    • American Express Hilton Ascend ($95 annual fee) (diamond status if you spend $40,000 in a calendar year)
    • American Express Hilton Business ($95 annual fee) (diamond status if you spend $40,000 in a calendar year)
    • American Express Platinum ($550 annual fee)
    • American Express Business Platinum ($450 annual fee)
  • Diamond (requires 60 nights or 30 stays per year)
    • American Express Aspire ($450 annual fee)

Hyatt Elite Status

  • Chase World of Hyatt ($95 annual fee)(offers 5 elite night credits plus 2 for every $5,000 spent. You would need to spend (without stay at Hyatt) $65,000 for Explorist and $140,000 for Globalist)

IHG Elite Status

  • Gold (requires 10 nights per year)
    • Chase IHG Traveller ($29 annual fee)
  • Platinum Elite (requires 40 nights per year)
    • Chase IHG Premier ($89 annual fee)

Marriott Elite Status

  • Silver (requires 10 nights per year)
    • Chase Marriott Premier Plus ($95 annual fee)- Silver Elite Status including 15 elite night credits. (Gold if you spend $35,000 per cardmember year)
    • Chase Marriott Business Premier ($99 annual fee)- Silver Elite Status (15 elite night credits) (Gold if you spend $50,000 per cardmember year)
    • American Express SPG ($95 annual fee)- 15 elite night credits, which is equivalent to Silver status. (Gold if you spend $50,000 per calendar year)
    • American Express SPG Business ($95 annual fee)- 15 elite night credits, which is equivalent to Silver status. (Gold if you spend $50,000 per calendar year)
  • Gold (requires 25 nights per year)
  • Note: You cannot stack elite night credits, so you are limited to 15 elite night credits via credit cards.

Wyndham Elite Status

  • Gold (requires 5 nights per year)
    • Wyndham Rewards Visa ($75 annual fee)
  • Platinum (requires 15 nights per year)
    • Wyndham Rewards Visa ($75 annual fee)

Radisson Elite Status

  • Silver (requires 9 nights or 6 stays per year)
    • Radisson Visa Signature ($50 annual fee)- You also get 10 qualifying nights towards Gold or Platinum status. 
  • Gold (requires 30 nights or 20 stays per year)
    • Radisson Premier Signature ($60 annual fee)- You also get 15 qualifying nights towards Platinum status. 
    • Radisson Business ($75 annual fee)- You also get 15 qualifying nights towards Platinum status. 

Choice Elite Status

    • Choice Privileges Visa ($0 annual fee)
