Flying on Etihad– You can use their miles calculator to determine how many points you would earn flying with Etihad. In Economy, you earn the following rates based on the distance you fly: 25% for the Deal, 50% for Saver, 75% for Classic, and 100% for Economy Flex. In Business Class, you earn 115% for Saver, 130% for Classic, and 175% for Flexible.

Points Transfer Points

Etihad is a 1:1 transfer partner for American Express Membership Rewards and Citi ThankYou Points. Membership Rewards and Thank You Points both routinely offer transfer bonuses to Etihad. 

You can also transfer at a 2 to 1.5 airline point for Capital One, and from Marriott at 3 (Marriott) to 1 airline point transfer ratio.

You can also get an additional 5,000 airline points bonus if you transfer in increments of 60,000 Marriott points. (e.g., 60,000 Marriott points become 25,000 airline points, whereas if you only transfer 59,000 Marriott points, you would only get 19,667 airline points)

Other Ways to Earn Etihad Airways Miles

Hotels and Rental Cars– You can earn points at most major hotel chains and car rental companies. For example for Hertz, you earn 550 points per rental. Hotel stays are less rewarding and usually average 500 points per stay or 2 points per $1 spent. 

Other Partners– You earn points by shopping with several retailers. However, the majority are businesses in the UAE.
