Points Transfer Partners
You can transfer from Marriott at a 3 (Marriott) to 1 airline point transfer ratio. You can also get an additional 5,000 airline points bonus if you transfer in increments of 60,000 Marriott points. (e.g., 60,000 Marriott points become 25,000 airline points, whereas if you only transfer 59,000 Marriott points, you would only get 19,667 airline points).
Bank Of America Asiana Credit Card
Application Link (Target: 30,000; Current: 30,000)
Annual Fee: $99
Earning: 3x on Asiana, 2x on gas and grocery, and 1x everywhere else.
Benefits: 2 Asiana lounge passes (only in U.S.), 10,000 bonus miles certificate each year, a $100 annual rebate on Asiana ticket purchases once per calendar year, and no foreign transaction fees.
Note 1: The 10,000 bonus miles certificate basically reduces the cost of an award flight on Asiana (not on any Star Alliance airlines) by 10,000 points. You can use this certificate once per year, but if you don’t use it, you lose it.
Note 2: Lounge passes only work for U.S. lounges. However, there are no U.S. “Asiana” lounges, so I assume they are referring to their partner lounges, which are located in Chicago (ORD), Honolulu (HNL), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), and Seattle (SEA). You should visit an Asiana airport check-in counter with your credit card and lounge passes to get one that works at partner lounge.
