Good Things About Chase
Sapphire Reserve– Chase launched the Sapphire Reserve in 2016 and it quickly became one of the top cards to hold. Some of the great benefits are 3x points on travel and dining, Priority Pass Lounge Access, trip delay insurance, primary rental car insurance, and an easy to use $300 annual travel credit.
Bonus Every 24 Months– You can get a new card’s sign up bonus every 24 months as long as you currently don’t have the card. American Express restricts to you a card bonus per lifetime, which is actually about every seven years. However, you are hampered by the 5/24 rule below.
Co-Branded Cards– Chase has some great co-branded cards. Two Chase Southwest cards can get you a Companion Pass. The Chase United Explorer is the best low annual fee airline credit card because it gets you better award space, free checked bags, two lounge access passes, and lets you avoid basic economy. Additionally, the Hyatt, Marriott, and IHG cards get you a free hotel night each year plus some elite status.
Bad Things About Chase
5/24 Rule– The 5/24 Rule is a very important rule that you must know to maximize your points earning potential. If you fail to maximize this rule while you still can, you miss the opportunity to sign up for several valuable cards.
Business Card Approval– Chase is one of the hardest issuers to get approved for business cards. Expect several questions about your “business” that you need to be able to answer effectively to be approved.
