American Express Centurion Lounges Guide

American Express Centurion Lounges are an amazing perk of several of their premium credit cards. 

Centurion Lounges are far superior to other airport lounges such as the Admirals Club, United Club, and Delta SkyClub, since Centurion Lounges offer complimentary premium food and drinks inspired by local chefs and mixologists. 

Plus, many Centurion Lounges have shower suites, family rooms, and a few lounges offer free massages or spa treatments. 

This guide will detail all of the Centurion Lounge locations, how to access the lounges, guest policy, and other international American Express lounges.

Current Centurion Lounge Locations

There are currently nine Centurion Lounges in the United States and one in Hong Kong. You can find even more information on each lounge below including their seasonal food and drink menus by clicking on the airport names below.

Dallas (DFW)

  • Location: The Dallas Centurion lounge is located near Gate D12 on the mezzanine level and can be reached from any other terminal via the Skylink train.
  • Hours: 5:30 a.m to 10:00 p.m
  • Size: 12,500 square feet.
  • Amenities: A free 15-minute massage, free pedicures, shower suites, conference rooms, a family room, semi-private workspaces, and a computer bar.

Hong Kong (HKG)

  • Location: The Hong Kong Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal 1 on Level 7 and can be accessed by taking the escalator near Gate 60.
  • Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
  • Size: 8,000 square feet.
  • Amenities: Shower suites, computer bar, phone room, and dedicated work areas.

Houston (IAH)

  • Location: The Houston Centurion lounge is located in Terminal D. It can be accessed via the elevator located in the duty-free shop near Gate D6. You can access Terminal D from all other terminals via the Skyway Train. 
  • Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Size: 8,500 square feet.
  • Amenities: Shower suites, tranquility area, phone room, dedicated work area, computer bar, and family room. 

Las Vegas (LAS)

  • Location: The Las Vegas Centurion Lounge is located in Concourse D near Gate D1. Concourse D can be reached from Terminal 1 or 3.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m to 11 p.m.
  • Size: 8,000 square feet. 
  • Amenities: Shower suites, conference spaces, a family room, semi-private workspaces, and a computer bar. 

Miami (MIA)

  • Location: The Miami Centurion Lounge is located in Concourse D on the fourth floor near Gate D12. The lounge is accessible from other concourses by a walkway near Gate E5. 
  • Hours:  5:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m.
  • Size: 12,300 square feet.
  • Amenities: A free 15-minute massage, shower suites, a family room, semi-private workspaces, and a computer bar.

New York (LGA)

  • Location: The New York LaGuardia Centurion Lounge is located before airport security in Central Terminal B on the 3rd floor between Concourses B and C. You can access Terminal B from other terminals via the purple, red, or blue airport shuttles on the departures level. 
  • Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday through Friday and 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Size: 5,350 square feet.
  • Amenities: Semi-private workspaces and a computer bar.

Philadelphia (PHL)

  • Location: The Philadelphia Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal A-West near Gate A14. You can access this terminal from any other terminal. 
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Size: 6,300 square feet.
  • Amenities: Shower Suites, workspaces, and a phone room. 

Phoenix (PHX)

  • Location: The Phoenix Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal 4 near Gate B22 on the upper level. It is also adjacent to the Escape Lounge, which is also accessible with an American Express Platinum card.
  • Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Size: 9,500 square feet.
  • Amenities: Shower Suites and workspaces.

Seattle (SEA)

  • Location: The Seattle Centurion Lounge is located in Concourse B near Gate B3. The lounge is accessible from any other terminal. 
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 
  • Size: 4,500 square feet.
  • Amenities: Shower Suites. This lounge is the smallest Centurion Lounge, so it only offers light bites instead of full meals like other Centurion Lounges.

San Francisco (SFO)

  • Location: The San Francisco Centurion Lounge is located in Terminal 3 near Gate F1 and F2. The only other terminal that can reach the lounge post-security is International Terminal G.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 
  • Size: 8,200 square feet.
  • Amenities: Shower Suites, wine-tasting area, family room, semi-private workspaces, and a computer bar. 

Upcoming Centurion Lounge Locations

Several new Centurion Lounges are currently being built and are expected to open in 2020. They will be located at:

  • Charlotte (CLT)- In Central Atrium between Concourses D and E.
  • Denver (DEN)- Concourse C. 
  • London (LHR)- Terminal 3.
  • Los Angeles (LAX)- Tom Bradley International Terminal. 
  • New York (JFK)- Terminal 4. 

Centurion Lounge Access

To access the Centurion Lounge you will need one of the cards below, a same-day departing boarding pass, and a government-issued I.D.

The cards that get you access are the:

* You must be flying Delta and you must have used an American Express card to book the flight.
 
3 Hour Rule- You cannot access the Centurion Lounge more than 3 hours before departure. This rule does not apply to connecting flights (e.g., if you have an 8-hour layover, you can still access the lounge).
 

Centurion Lounge Guest Policy:

  • Platinum cardholders can bring two guests in for free. Additional guests are $50.
    • Tip: If you need regularly need to bring in more than two guests, you could add 3 authorized users to the Platinum card for $175 for all three. Each of those cardholders would get access plus two guests.
  • Delta Reserve cardholders can bring two guests in for $50 each.
  • Centurion cardholders can bring in two guests or any immediate family members (spouse, domestic partner, and children under 18) for free.  
  • Lap Infants- Lap Infants don’t count as a guest if you can produce a lap infant boarding pass.

Other American Express Lounges

American Express also has thirteen International American Express lounges. These lounges are not as fancy as Centurion Lounges, despite being called “The Centurion Lounge” or the “Centurion Club.” Many of these international lounges charge for food or alcohol, unlike the true Centurion Lounges.

Buenos Aires (EZE)- The Centurion Lounge

  • Location: Terminal C, level 2, near gate 15.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. 
  • Guest Access: Two guests and children under 16.
  • Amenities: Complimentary snacks and drinks, and children’s area.

Delhi (DEL)- American Express Lounge

  • Location: Terminal 3, next to gate 27 and 28.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. 
  • Guest Access: 2 guests plus children under 12.
  • Amenities: Complimentary food and snacks. (Alcohol is not complimentary).

Melbourne (MEL)- American Express Lounge

  • Location: Terminal 2, take the escalator opposite gate 7 down to the entrance on the lower level.
  • Hours: 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Guest Access: Two guests OR immediate family (spouse and children under 17).
  • Amenities: Complimentary food and drinks.
Mexico City (MEX)- Centurion Club (Terminal 1; International)
  • Location: Terminal 1, between gate 8 and F1, next to “Flap’s” restaurant
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family.
  • Amenities: Complimentary snacks and drinks, and shower suites. (Premium food, spa services, and conference rooms are not complimentary).
Mexico City (MEX)- Centurion Club (Terminal 1; Domestic)
  • Location: Terminal 1, domestic departure area between Gates 17 and 18. 
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family.
  • Amenities: Complimentary drinks (Premium food is not complimentary).
Mexico City (MEX)- Centurion Club (Terminal 2)
  • Location: Terminal 2; after security, proceed to the Mezzanine Level via escalators or elevator. The entrance is down the hall and up the stairs. The lounge is accessible for both domestic and international customers.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family.
  • Amenities: 15-minute complimentary massage, children’s area, and shower suites. (Premium food and drinks are not complimentary).

Monterrey (MTY)- Centurion Club (Terminal A)

  • Location: Terminal A near Gate 4.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family.
  • Amenities: Complimentary snacks. (Premium food and drinks are not complimentary)

Monterrey (MTY)- Centurion Club (Terminal B)

  • Location: Terminal B near Gate 4.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family.
  • Amenities: Complimentary snacks. (Premium food and drinks are not complimentary).

Mumbai (BOM)- American Express Lounge

  • Location: Terminal 2, level 3, across from Burger King.
  • Hours: Open 24 hours.
  • Guest Access: 2 complimentary guests plus children under 12.
  • Amenities: Complimentary food and snacks. (Alcohol is not complimentary unless you are a Centurion cardholder)

São Paulo (GRU)- American Express Lounge

  • Location: Terminal 3, second floor; follow signs for “VIP Lounge” area. International departures only.
  • Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.
  • Guest Access: One guest plus children under 12. 
  • Amenities: Complimentary food and drinks, and shower suites.

Stockholm (ARN)- Pontus in the Air (American Express Lounge)

  • Location: Terminal 5, after security between A and F piers. Take the stairs across from Oak Cafe and up to the entrance on the Mezzanine Level.
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday to Friday, and 5:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Guest Access: One guest.
  • Amenities: Complimentary snacks. (Premium food and drinks are not complimentary).

Sydney (SYD)- American Express Lounge

  • Location: Terminal 1, near gates 50-63; take the escalator down to level 1.
  • Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. 
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family (spouse and children under 17).
  • Amenities: Complimentary food and drinks, and shower suites. 

Toluca (Mexico) (TLC)- Centurion Club

  • Location: Terminal 1 near Gates 3 and 4. 
  • Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Guest Access: 2 guests OR immediate family.
  • Amenities: Complimentary snacks. (Premium food and drinks are not complimentary).
