Delta Amex bonuses hit 200,000 miles
Delta and American Express refreshed the welcome offers on the existing SkyMiles cobrand suite today. The offers run through November 4, 2026. This is the same Gold / Platinum / Reserve personal-and-business lineup, not a new card.

The 200,000-mile business bonus is the one that actually moves airfare, even if long-haul premium awards are ugly. SkyMiles still have a floor around a cent each on Pay With Miles, and cardmembers still get 15% off Delta-metal awards. The personal Reserve is only interesting if two domestic Comfort round-trips are worth more to you than that mile pile. The cheaper Gold and Platinum cards are still the easier math for most people, with the caveat that personal Gold and Platinum are “as high as” offers, so you will not know your number until you apply.
Amex’s once-per-lifetime rule still applies, and it cascades down: a prior Reserve blocks the Platinum and Gold bonuses on the personal side, and a prior Platinum blocks Gold. Personal and business are scored separately, so you can hold both.
American adds Vienna, Porto, and Iceland
American answered United’s 10-city dump with seven summer 2027 routes and a fourth daily New York (JFK) to London Heathrow (LHR) on the new 787-9 with Flagship Suites. Two of the cities, Vienna and Porto, are firsts for the airline. Iceland is a return. Tickets go on sale Monday, August 31, at aa.com. All of the newly announced flying is daily.
The useful new city is Vienna. Philadelphia (PHL) to Vienna (VIE) starts May 6, 2027, on an A321XLR. American says it will be the only U.S. airline on the route, and the season runs through early January 2028 so Christmas-market travel is on the same airplane. Porto from Philadelphia, announced earlier this year, starts March 28 on the same XLR. Reykjavik/Keflavik (KEF) returns May 27 for the first time since 2019 on an A321neo, so there are no lie-flat seats.
The rest is new metal on cities American already serves: JFK to Amsterdam and Nice on the XLR, Charlotte to Barcelona on a 777-200ER, and Chicago to Tokyo Narita on a 787-9 starting March 19. Award space on American and oneworld to Vienna, Porto, Iceland, Nice, and Barcelona is the reason to watch August 31.

American is also moving the seasonal starts of returning Charlotte–Paris and Miami–Milan flying up to March 4, 2027.
Qantas raises the bar to keep status
Qantas Frequent Flyer filled in the status overhaul it first sketched in February. Rollover and ground earning start December 8, 2026. The higher renewal thresholds and the end of the Loyalty Bonus land in 2027. This is separate from the “pick double points or double Status Credits” booking promo already running through September 2.
The easier renewal numbers go away. Silver renews at 300 instead of 250, Gold at 700 instead of 600, and Platinum at 1,400 instead of 1,200. You still need four eligible Qantas or Jetstar segments. Rollover is only the surplus above the full qualification number, not half of whatever you earned.
The Loyalty Bonus and Points Club both disappear, which kills the old status-run tricks of stacking flight credits and earning Status Credits on Classic Rewards. In their place, members can earn a small number of Status Credits from ground spend. This is a worse deal if you just clear renewal each year and a better one if you overshoot or already have a huge lifetime balance.
Flying Blue is selling miles with an 80% bonus
Air France-KLM is running an untargeted Flying Blue buy-miles sale through 11:59 p.m. CET September 16, 2026. The 80% bonus applies when you buy 25,000 to 100,000 miles, which drops the usual 3-cents-a-mile sticker to about 1.69 cents. Smaller buys get 50% or 60%. Non-elites can still buy only 100,000 miles per calendar year; elites can buy more. Buy it in your Flying Blue account.
That 1.69-cent price is still above a typical Flying Blue redemption value, so this is a top-up tool, not a stash-building sale. Upgraded Points’ example is a 60,000-mile JFK–Paris business saver plus about $200 in taxes, or roughly $1,200 out of pocket against a $2,500 cash fare. Transferring American Express, Chase, Citi, or Capital One points is still cheaper if you have the balance. If you do buy, do it with a date in mind, and remember the September 8 Light/Standard/Flex change: Light stays at today’s mileage rates and Standard costs 20% to 25% more, so a purchase you make for a ticket after September 8 may not buy the same seat it would buy today.

- United’s first international A321XLR flights, Washington Dulles (IAD) to Amsterdam (AMS) and Dublin (DUB) starting December 1, 2026, were slated to go on sale today at united.com. The cabin is 20 Polaris suites and 12 Premium Plus.
- Some Hilton Honors accounts tied to the Amex Platinum are getting a targeted Diamond shortcut: 90 days of Diamond, then Diamond through March 31, 2028, if you stay 10 nights in the trial. Register with the code in the email. Compare it with just getting the Hilton Aspire, which is Diamond for holding the card.
- ALL Accor is targeting some North American members with complimentary Silver. Activate it if the email showed up.
- Wyndham award prices on the better hotels go up September 15, so book the stay before then if you already have the points.
- Aegean is selling 20% to 50% off network-wide for travel September 15, 2026, through February 28, 2027, if you book by September 2
