JetBlue Trial & Route Cuts
The DOJ’s bench trial to block JetBlue’s $6.8 billion acquisition of ultra-low-cost carrier Spirit starts today in Boston. The trial is expected to take approximately 3 weeks, and it will decide the fate of the proposed JetBlue-Spirit acquisition.
If the deal fails, JetBlue has to pay a $70 million fee to Spirit and $400 million to Spirit shareholders.
JetBlue also announced several route cancellations:

Travel News
- The American Airlines status match from Delta and United has returned for a limited time for Delta Platinum and Diamond Medallion and United Premier Platinum and 1K members.
- Priority Pass added in New York (JFK) to VIPOne Lounge for international flights in Terminal 1, which also gets you access to the Fast Track Security Lane.
- Minute Suites has a new location in Salt Lake City’s airport (SLC), which should be added to Priority Pass in the few next weeks.
- Aeromexico announced new routes from Mexico City (MEX) to Boston (BOS), Salt Lake City (SLC), and Washington Dulles (IAD), plus from Mexico City Santa Lucia (NLU) to Dallas (DFW) and McAllen (MFE)
- Qantas is launching a new route from Perth to Paris starting July 12, 2024.
