Here’s the latest miles, points, and travel news:
Wells Fargo Adds JetBlue
Wells Fargo Rewards just added JetBlue TrueBlue as its seventh airline transfer partner at a 1:1 ratio, with transfers posting instantly and no minimum requirement.
The timing couldn’t be better since the new Blue Sky partnership between JetBlue and United just launched, meaning you can now use your Wells Fargo points to book select United-operated flights after transferring them to TrueBlue.
You can snag some solid redemptions through JetBlue’s partner airlines, including Condor business class starting at 54,000 points one-way, Japan Airlines flights from 39,000 points in economy or 79,900 in business, and Icelandair economy awards starting at 17,000 points one-way.
United domestic economy awards are bookable through the Blue Sky partnership starting around 11,900 points one-way on nonstop routes if you book far enough in advance.
Wells Fargo Rewards still has a smaller partner lineup compared to Chase or Amex, but this addition gives you access to both JetBlue’s leisure-focused network and United’s massive global route map.
Salt Lake Gets Centurion Lounge
Amex just opened its 31st Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport near Gate B31 in Concourse B — the airport’s first-ever proprietary credit card lounge that spans nearly 18,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 342 travelers daily from 4:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Mountain Time.
The ski-lodge inspired space features a year-round outdoor terrace with Wasatch Mountain views and its own fireplace and bar, a cozy hearth room with a 360-degree fireplace, wheelchair-accessible ramps throughout, private group rooms you can reserve at the front desk, shower suites with Dyson hair dryers and ultra-soft robes, and a Blue Roast coffee bar serving handcrafted espresso drinks.
You’ll find rotating seasonal dishes curated by James Beard Award-winning chefs Kwame Onwuachi, Mashama Bailey, Mike Solomonov, and Sarah Grueneberg — including Caribbean Wedding Soup, Farro Pilaf, Grilled Cabbage with Tehina, and Earl Grey Panna Cotta — plus health-conscious grab-and-go options like fresh fruit smoothies, overnight oats, butternut squash soup, and beet wellness shots at multiple stations throughout the lounge.
The lounge debuts Amex’s first-ever recovery room with three stations equipped with back massagers, compression boots, and massage guns (available via waitlist for up to 30 minutes per guest), plus there’s a private lounge-within-a-lounge area exclusively for invitation-only Centurion cardholders with its own seating, floor-to-ceiling windows, and dedicated refreshments.
JetBlue Adds Lounges, First Class
JetBlue’s first airport lounge will open at JFK Terminal 5 in late 2025, spanning 8,000 square feet, with an 11,000 square foot Boston Logan Terminal C location following in 2026.
Access will be limited to transatlantic Mint passengers (domestic Mint doesn’t count), Mosaic 4 members with one guest, holders of the new $499 annual fee credit card with one guest, and those who purchase annual memberships or day passes.
The airline is rolling out a “Mini Mint” domestic first class product starting in 2026, with 25% of the non-Mint fleet retrofitted by year-end and most planes completed by the end of 2027 using the Collins Aerospace MiQ seat.
You’ll find eight first class seats on A220s, 12 on A320s, and 12 on both A321ceo and A321neo aircraft, with Mini Mint offering 36-37 inches of pitch while EvenMore gets 35 inches and regular economy drops from 32 inches to 30 inches.
Southwest Launches Debit Card
Southwest rolled out a Rapid Rewards debit card through Sunrise Banks and Galileo that requires no credit check and earns 1 point per $2 on everyday purchases, 1 point per dollar on Southwest flights, and 1 point per dollar on dining and subscriptions like streaming services, internet, phone, and utilities.
The card comes with no annual fee (though you’ll need a Sunrise Banks checking account with a $2,500 average minimum balance to avoid monthly fees), plus a 7,500-point Companion Pass boost, an annual 20% off promo code, a $35 annual Southwest credit, and 7,500 bonus anniversary points if you spend at least $15,000 in the prior year.
New cardholders can snag 2,500 points after making two recurring deposits and spending $100 within the first 90 days, and you’ll get fee-free ATM withdrawals at any Cirrus network location worldwide.
Breeze Airways 35% Sale
Breeze Airways is offering 35% off round-trip base fares with promo code CHARMED when you book by October 31 for travel from December 2, 2025, through March 3, 2026 (excluding the holiday peak periods from December 19-23, December 26-January 4, February 12-16, and February 20-22).
Keep in mind the discount only applies to the base fare, and you’ll need to remember to enter the code at the final payment screen since it won’t show up in your initial search results.
Delta’s New SLC Lounge Opens
Delta opened a second Sky Club at Salt Lake City International Airport in late October 2025, located in Concourse B right at the exit of the tunnel connecting Concourses A and B.
The 34,000-square-foot space seats 600 travelers and features floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain views, nine soundproof phone booths, a wraparound premium bar, an extensive buffet with dual-sided service, two beverage stations, and an Immersion Room displaying rotating digital landscapes of Utah’s Monument Valley and Red Pine Lake.
This new lounge is the second-largest Sky Club in Delta’s network and more than doubles the airline’s lounge capacity at SLC from 28,000 to 62,000 square feet, though it notably lacks showers and a Sky Deck that you’ll find at the Concourse A location.
Alaska Cuts Seven West Coast Routes
Alaska Airlines is eliminating seven routes from San Francisco and Los Angeles to redeploy aircraft for its expansion in San Diego and Portland, with the cuts effective in 2026 due to fewer new planes entering the fleet.
The carrier will drop five routes from SFO — Austin, Boston, Burbank, Newark, and Orlando — along with three regional jet routes from LAX to Las Vegas, Reno, and San Jose.
Alaska won’t bring back seasonal Anchorage-Detroit service either, though the airline says both SFO and LAX remain important hubs despite the pullback at these highly competitive airports where United, American, and Delta dominate.
American Airlines’ New Routes
American Airlines is upgrading Philadelphia to Salt Lake City from seasonal to nearly year-round service — likely a direct response to Delta’s new Seattle to Philadelphia route announced last week — and will also launch four new regional routes starting February 2026: Charlotte and Chicago to Greenbrier Valley Airport (LWB) in Lewisburg, West Virginia, plus Charlotte and Chicago to Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (SHD) in Weyers Cave, Virginia.
The carrier will also resume daily JFK to Tel Aviv service on March 28, 2026, joining United’s aggressive expansion in the Israeli market with up to three daily Newark flights.
Frontier’s Big Mardi Gras Push
Frontier is launching 12 new limited-time routes to New Orleans from February 12-22, 2026, including daily service from Chicago O’Hare and Las Vegas, 4x weekly flights from JFK, 3x weekly from Austin, Charlotte, Newark, LaGuardia, Miami, and Phoenix, plus 2x weekly from Cincinnati, Tampa, and Washington Dulles.
The airline is also ramping up existing routes during the same period, boosting Atlanta and Detroit to 2x daily, increasing Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Orlando, and Philadelphia to daily service, and adding frequencies to Baltimore, Cleveland, and Raleigh-Durham (all 3x weekly).
You’ll be able to fly into New Orleans from 22 cities across the country during the 11-day Mardi Gras window, with all routes operating through Louis Armstrong International Airport.
Etihad and Ethiopian Partnership
You can now earn Etihad Guest Miles on Ethiopian Airlines flights as of October 27, 2025, with earning rates ranging from 25% to 125% depending on your fare class — Business Class fares in C, J, or D booking codes earn the highest rate at 125%, while the most restrictive Economy fares (U, Q, T, E, O, W) earn just 25%.
Redemptions aren’t available yet despite Ethiopian appearing on Etihad’s partner list, there it does open up mileage opportunities across Ethiopian’s extensive network.
ZIPAIR’s Orlando Experiment
ZIPAIR will fly four round-trip charters in partnership with Disney between Tokyo Narita and Orlando on February 23, 28, March 5, and 10, 2026, covering 7,251 miles with Boeing 787-8s and tickets on sale in early December.
Etihad Advances Charlotte Launch
Etihad Airways moved up its Abu Dhabi to Charlotte service from May 4, 2026 to March 23, 2026, operating four times weekly on Boeing 787-9 aircraft with departures from Abu Dhabi at 3:35 a.m. arriving at 10:40 a.m., and returns leaving Charlotte at 3:10 p.m. arriving back at 12:25 p.m. the next day.
