Frequently Asked Questions
Can you transfer ThankYou points to someone's ThankYou points account?
You can share your ThankYou points with anyone else, but there are a few restrictions:
- Shared points expire after 90 days.
- You can share up to 100,000 ThankYou points every calendar year, and you can only have up to 100,000 ThankYou points shared with you every calendar year.
- The recipient of the points cannot share those points with another account.
Can you transfer ThankYou points to someone's airline account?
No. The loyalty account has to match the name of the ThankYou rewards account. The only workaround is if that person has a ThankYou rewards account, where you could transfer your points and then they could transfer those points to an airline.
Are there fees to transfer ThankYou points?
There are no fees.
Can I combine my Citi ThankYou accounts?
Citi’s system creates separate ThankYou points accounts for each card.
However, you can combine them, but the points that you transfer to your main ThankYou points account must be used within 60 days.
Do ThankYou Points Expire?
Your Citi ThankYou points will not expire as long as your account remains open and in good standing.
However, you should remember the 60-day expiration rule when combining ThankYou points accounts or transferring points to someone else’s ThankYou points account.
Can you reverse a ThankYou points transfer?
No. Once you transfer, you cannot reverse it.
