There are three Choice Elite status levels: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
Reaching Gold Elite status can get you a lot of premium perks, but when you step up to Platinum and Diamond levels, the benefits are a little bit slim – just some bonus points and complimentary breakfast.
Don’t worry, we’ll dive into the details of what these benefits are to help you get a better grasp on the Choice Privileges Elite Program.
Member (Base Status)
Anyone who joins the Choice Privileges Rewards program is a Member.
Exclusive Member Rates
All Choice Privileges® members get access exclusive access to sweet hotel rates and other amazing rewards. Plus, if you spot a lower rate that’s publicly advertised on other websites, Choice will match that price. You can submit a price match claim here.
If your claim is approved, U.S. and Canadian residents will get a $50 reward card after completing a stay. Meanwhile, international residents will receive their first night for free instead.

All members can avail of exclusive Choice Privileges® promos, like the Free Night Sweet Spots and Stay Twice, Get a $50 Gift Card deal. Just keep in mind, most of these promos are up for grabs for a limited time.

Earn 10 Choice Points Per Dollar Spent
Score up to 10 points for every dollar you spend when booking any of the 7,000+ Choice Hotels® properties that’s located in all 50 states and over 40 countries and territories.
Book With Points + Cash
Book reward nights faster by combining points and cash. You’ll have to pay a minimum amount of $17 and 6,000 points to use this option.
To start booking, log in to your Choice Privileges account, enter your destination, and click “Reward Points” in the Special Rate menu.
When you find a hotel that fits the bill for reward nights, click the Points Plus Cash tab, and lock in your stay.
Redeem Rewards Nights at Partner Properties
Redeem reward nights at partner properties such as Bluegreen Resorts, PENN casinos , or luxurious Preferred Hotels & Resorts worldwide.
Redeem Rewards at Airlines and Travel Partners
Aside from hotel stays, you can redeem your points through other ways such as:
Swapping points for miles and rewards with airlines
Enjoying cruise offers.
Getting magazine subscriptions.
Booking tee times at golf courses within the U.S. and shopping for golf equipment and apparel.

Plus, when you rent a car through Avis® and Budget®, you’ll snag up to 35% off base rates and earn points on every eligible rental.
Choice "Your Extras" Rewards
If your stay includes a weeknight night (Sunday to Thursday), you can earn the following perks for stays in the USA:
- 400 Choice Privileges points.
- 100 airline miles.
- $2.50 Amazon credit.
- $5 Starbucks card.
- $3 Uber trip discount.
For Canadian stays, the benefits are:
- 400 Choice Privileges bonus points
- 100 airline miles (from participating airline carriers)
- $2.50 Amazon.ca Gift Certificate
- $5 Tim Hortons® Gift Card, or $5 Coffee gift card (Gift card options are in Canadian dollars).

Gold Elite Status
The lowest elite tier in Choice Privileges is Gold status, which is pretty competitive with other lower tier elite status programs.
How to Earn Choice Privileges Gold Status
You can earn Choice Privileges Gold Status by staying 10 nights per calendar year.
Elite status is earned right away once you meet the required nights.

10% Points Bonus
Gold members will earn a 10% bonus on points, which means you’ll be earning 11 points per dollar spent on hotel stays
Elite Reserved Parking
All elite members can park in the designated Choice Privileges Elite parking spots.
These parking spots are typically the most convenient spots closest to the entrance.
Early Check-In and Late Check-Out
Gold Members can usually score early check-in and late check-out (usually around 2:00 p.m.) if the hotel has availability.
Enjoy some extra settling-in time with early check-in, or snooze a little longer with late check out.
Elite Welcome Gift
Elite members receive the choice at check-in to receive either a welcome gift (typically water and a snack) or bonus points for hotels in the U.S. and Canada.
The bonus points typically vary per hotel brand and location but here’s what you can expect.
Bonus points for U.S. hotels:
- 250 bonus points at Ascend, Comfort Suites and Comfort Inn hotels.
- 200 bonus points at Clarion, Sleep Inn, Quality and MainStay hotels.
- 100 bonus points at Econo Lodge, Rodeway and Suburban hotels.
Bonus points for Canadian hotels:
- 250 bonus points at Ascend, Comfort Suites and Comfort Inn hotels.
- 200 bonus points at Clarion, Sleep Inn, Quality and MainStay hotels.
- 100 bonus points at Econo Lodge, Rodeway and Suburban hotels.
The points are directly deposited into your Choice Privileges account and may take up to four weeks to post after the stay is completed.
Rollover Nights
Elite members can rollover up any nights above the nights required for the elite level.
For example, a Gold Member who stayed 15 nights in 2023, could rollover 5 nights for the 2024 calendar year (15 – 7 = 5 nights).
Elite Customer Hotline
All elite members have access to the elite customer hotline for reservations and other questions, which is quicker than the standard customer service phone number.
Status Match to PENN Play Advantage Status
Gold and Platinum members will be matched to PENN Play Advantage level, while Diamond members will be matched to PENN Play Preferred.
This means that you can now enjoy exclusive perks at over 20 casino hotels nationwide. All you need to do is to link your Choice Privileges account to your PENN Play Rewards account.
Discounts on Redeeming Points for Gift Cards
Choice Privileges occasionally runs promotions that allow elite members to redeem their points for gift cards at a discounted rate.
However, the value for this redemption is typically below average compared to redeeming your Choice points for hotel stays.
Room Upgrades
Gold, Platinum, and Diamond elite can get room upgrades at the following brands:
- Cambria and Ascend Hotel Collection brands worldwide
- Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Radisson Collection, Radisson Individuals, and Park Plaza brands in North America, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean (only).
Upgrades are based on availability and determined by the hotel at check-in, and only apply to the elite member’s personal room.
If you score an upgrade, you might get a suite, a newly renovated room, a room on a higher/lower floor, or a room with better views.
But keep in mind, upgrades aren’t guaranteed, and hotels aren’t required to upgrade you to a specific room type.
Platinum Elite Status
Platinum Status is the mid-tier status of the Choice Privileges program.

You can earn Choice Privileges Platinum Status by staying 20 nights per calendar year.
You can also earn Platinum elite status with the Barclays Choice Privileges Visa Signature Card.

25% Points Bonus
Platinum members earn 12.5 points per dollar (25% bonus) on hotel stays.
Diamond Elite Status
The top-tier in Choice Privileges is Diamond elite status, which gives members a 50% points bonus, guaranteed room availability, and complimentary breakfast.

Guaranteed Room Availability
If you need a room for an important trip but your hotel of choice is booked up (no pun intended), don’t panic!
Just call (877) 421-0006 at least 48 hours before your stay, and hotel representatives will help you find a room.
Keep in mind that some restrictions may apply. This service is available at participating Ascend and Cambria hotels worldwide, as well as at Radisson, Radisson RED, Radisson Blu, Radisson Collection, Radisson Individuals, and Park Plaza hotels in North America, South America, and LATAM.
Complimentary Breakfast
Start your day off right with a free breakfast for you and one guest at participating hotel restaurants during your stay.

Status Match to Choice Privileges
You can status match your elite status in a different hotel program to Choice Privileges once per lifetime to quickly upgrade your Choice elite status.
Simply email [email protected] (for United States and Canadian members), [email protected] (for European members) or [email protected] (for Australian or New Zealand members) with the following information:
- Full Name
- Choice Privileges Member Number. Sign up for a free account if you don’t have one yet.
- Proof of Elite status in another hotel program:
- Screenshot or copy of your other program’s loyalty card (with expiration date).
- Or, screenshot or copy of other program’s current statement or account status page.
Choice Privileges rarely matches someone into Choice Diamond status, even if you have top-tier status such as Hilton Diamond, Hyatt Globalist, or Marriott Titanium.
Choice will likely match your elite status to Choice Platinum status as long as you have a mid-tier or top-tier elite status with another program.
How to Earn More Choice Points
