The income requirement for the Chase Sapphire Preferred is reportedly at least $30,000 per year, according to user reports.
Although Chase does not publicly disclose specific income requirements for this card, it is legally obligated to take into account an applicant’s capacity to meet the minimum monthly payments on their assigned credit line.
But to be safe, I would recommend having an income of at least $50,000 for the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. If you make less than that, consider the Chase Freedom Unlimited®.
Chase also considers your credit score when determining your eligibility for the card, which generally needs to be at least 670 credit score to qualify, but preferably at least a 700 credit score.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred has a minimum credit limit of $5,000, so if your income is on the lower end, expect your credit limit to be around that level.
