The Chase Freedom Flex is a great no-annual fee card with great cash back rewards and great benefits.

You can earn 5% cash back on rotating categories and travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards. Plus 3% cash back at restaurants and at drugstores.

Earning Rewards:

  • 5% cash back on up to $1,500 on combined purchases in bonus categories each quarter you activate.
  • 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards.
  • 3% cash back on restaurants, takeout, and eligible delivery services.
  • 3% cash back on drugstore purchases.

Freedom Flex Card Benefits

The Chase Freedom Flex offers a lot of great benefits for a no-annual fee credit card including cell phone insurance, purchase protection, extended warranty, and rental car insurance.

Purchase Protection

This benefit covers your new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account.

Cell Phone Insurance

You are covered up to $800 per claim and $1,000 per year in cell phone protection against theft or damage for phone listed on your monthly cell phone bill, and when you pay the monthly bill with the Freedom Flex.

This coverage is limited to 2 claims in a 12-month period.

Extended Warranty

 This benefits extends the time of a U.S. manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year on eligible warranties of three years or less.

Secondary Rental Car Insurance

This coverage covers any damage to the rental car that is not covered by your own insurance. Whereas, some cards offer primary rental car insurance would pay before your insurance.

Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance

This benefit covers up to $1,500 per covered person and $6,000 per trip if a loss results in the cancellation or interruption of your travel.

Redeeming Ultimate Rewards Points

You can redeem Ultimate Rewards points with the Chase Freedom Flex card at 1.0 cents per point for travel.

If you pair the Freedom Flex card with the Sapphire Preferred or Ink Preferred, the value of your points jumps to 1.25 cents per point.

But it gets even better if you pair the Freedom Flex card with the Sapphire Reserve, which gives you a 50% bonus and allows you to redeem at 1.5 cents per point.

Plus, if you have any of those three cards, you can transfer your Ultimate Rewards points from your Freedom Flex card to the airline and hotel partners below.

If you don’t have one of those cards, you are stuck redeeming points at 1.0 cents per point.
