Welcome Bonus for the Bilt Mastercard

The Bilt Mastercard® does not officially offer a welcome bonus, but there is an unofficial welcome offer of 5x points your first 5 days up to 50,000 points.

Despite not having a welcome bonus, you can easily earn lots of points when paying your rent.

Earning Points with the Bilt Mastercard

The Bilt Mastercard® earns the following rewards when you have at least five posted transactions per billing cycle:

  • 5 points per dollar on Lyft purchases.
  • 3 points per dollar on dining.
  • 2 points per dollar on travel purchases.
  • 1 point per dollar on rent payments without any transaction fees, up to a limit of 100,000 points per year.
  • 1 point per dollar on everything else.

Plus, the first of every month is Bilt’s Rent Day, which allows you to earn double points on the first of each month. That means you’ll earn 6x on dining (normally 3x), 4x on travel (normally 2x), and 2x on other purchases except rent (normally 1x).

The Bilt Rewards Mastercard has no annual fee making it an appealing credit card option for those who want to earn rewards and premium benefits without paying a large annual fee.

Benefits of the Bilt Mastercard

The Bilt Mastercard® offers nice benefits for a no annual fee card, including: 

Primary Rental Car Insurance steps in as the primary coverage for any damage or theft of a rental vehicle paid for with this card without needing to use your own auto insurance.

Cell Phone Protection offers coverage for damage or theft of a cell phone when the monthly cell phone bill is paid with the eligible credit card.

Trip Delay Insurance will reimburse any eligible expenses you incur as a result of your trip being delayed.

Purchase Protection covers eligible purchases against accidental damage or theft for up to 90 days for purchases this card.

Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance reimburses you for non-refundable expenses if your trip is interrupted or canceled for a covered reason when you pay for your travel expenses with this card.

No Foreign Transaction Fees: You can make international purchases with your card without paying an extra fee of around 3%.
