The Bilt Mastercard® (review) is one of my favorite credit cards because it is a no annual fee card with valuable airline and hotel transfer partners, great travel and purchase protections, and you can earn points for paying your rent.
Bilt Rewards also offers an elite program, even if you are not a cardmember. The article will cover how to earn Bilt Rewards elite status and all of its benefits.
How to Earn Bilt Rewards Elite Status
You can earn Bilt Rewards elite status in two different ways.
The first option is to earn Bilt status through qualifying points including all points earned in a calendar year from both rent and non-rent spend.
The second “Fast Track” option is to meet spending thresholds (excluding rent) in a calendar year on the Bilt Mastercard® or in the Bilt ecosystem.
Here are the requirements to earn each Bilt Rewards status tier:
- Blue – Base status for being a Bilt Rewards member.
- Silver – Earn 50,000 points or spend $10,000 on the Bilt Mastercard.
- Gold – Earn 125,000 Bilt Rewards Points or spend $25,000 on the Bilt Mastercard.
- Platinum – Earn 200,000 Bilt Rewards points or spend $50,000 on the Bilt Mastercard.
What is Excluded from Status Points?
Points earned in the following ways do not count toward status tier:
- Referrals.
- Courtesy points.
- Linking bonus points.
- Point Quest™ points.
- Points from member surveys.
- Incremental campaign bonus points (such as the 5X for 5 Days
What Counts as Spending for Fast Track?
Spending in the following ways counts toward your tier status via the Fast Track:
- Non-rent spend on the Bilt Mastercard®.
- SoulCycle classes booked in the Bilt app.
- At Bilt Dining restaurants with any card linked in your Bilt Wallet.
- Lyft rideshare when Bilt is set as your rewards partner in the Lyft app.
- Bilt Travel Portal.
Bilt Rewards Elite Status Benefits
Here are all the benefits of Bilt Rewards elite status:
Rent Day Promotions
One of the coolest promotions each month is Bilt’s Rent Day, where you can earn double points on purchases, earn points via trivia, and get access to a special promotion each month.
For example, Bilt frequently offers amazing transfer bonuses to airline and hotel programs on Rent Day, with members getting bonuses based on their elite status: 75% for Blue members, 100% for Silver members, 125% for Gold members, and 150% for Platinum members.
During this promotion as a Bilt Gold member, I transferred 220,000 Bilt points and received 495,000 Air France KLM Flying Blue miles (equivalent to about five roundtrip business class flights from the US to Europe).
Another Rent Day promotion allowed elite members to book special experiences, such as tickets to a suite at an NFL game. Platinum members were given first access, followed by Gold and then Silver members. Almost all the tickets were purchased by Bilt Platinum members, so it was a big advantage for those elite members.
Points Interest
Bilt has the only rewards program that gives you interest on your unused points for Silver, Gold, and Platinum members.
While it is a nice feature, don’t expect to earn a lot of interest on your unused points. For example, I earned about 150 points per month on a balance of 400,000 points.
Platinum Members: Free Bilt Collection Gift
Upon reaching Platinum status, members will receive a complimentary gift from the Bilt Collection, which is a collection of home decor and art.
Bonus Points on Lease Renewals
If you are renting from a Bilt Rewards Alliance property, you can earn bonus points on new leases or a lease renewals. Silver members earn a 10% bonus, Gold members earn a 25% bonus, and Platinum members earn a 50% bonus.
Home Ownership Concierge
Bilt Gold and Platinum members who redeem their points towards a downpayment on their home (at a rate of 1.5 cents per point) can utilize the help of a dedicated concierge to walk them through the home-buying process.
However, to redeem your points for a downpayment, you must finance via a Bilt partner.
Milestone Rewards
Bilt is planning on adding Milestone Rewards as an additional benefit of Bilt elite status, which will include extra rewards for every 25,000 Bilt Points you earn.
The Verdict
The biggest benefit of Bilt Rewards elite status is its Rent Day promotions, which can score you great transfer bonuses and special experiences.
Bilt Rewards has more updates planned for their elite status in 2024, so seeing how they further improve the program will be interesting.
