No, Best Western Rewards points never expire, as long as your account is open and in good standing.
This makes Best Western one of the most customer-friendly points programs. All the other hotel programs expire within 12 to 24 months after account inactivity.
But we recommend you use your points regularly because loyalty programs are frequently devalued.
Comparison of Hotel Programs
Below are the points expiration policies of the major hotel programs, so you can see how Best Western compares to its competitors.
How To Earn Best Western Points
The Best Western Rewards program isn’t as sophisticated as other popular programs like Hilton Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy, and Wyndham Rewards.
As of this writing, the program gives members a few options to boost their points balance:
Stay At Best Western Hotels
The simplest way to earn Best Western Rewards points is to stay at Best Western hotels and properties.
Members will earn 10 points per dollar, but Best Western elite status members can earn a bonus of up to 50%.
Rent A Car With Program Partners
Earn points whenever you rent a card with one of Best Western’s car rental partners below. Not only will you earn points, but you’ll get discounted rates.
The number of points you’ll earn will vary per partner. Some partners will let you earn points for every dollar spent while some lets you earn a fixed amount per booking.
Shop At Partner Shops
Shop at partner retailers and earn Best Western points for your purchases.
Members will earn 1,000 points for every purchase made at Teleflora. Meanwhile, members can earn up to 12,500 points and get 6 bottles of wine for $41.94 with Vinesse Wine Club.
Buy Best Western Points
Members can purchase Best Western Rewards points for the cost of $10 per 1,000 points. The maximum number of points you can buy is 20,000 points per day.

How To Redeem Best Western Points
Redeem For Hotel Stays
You can redeem your Best Western Rewards points towards free nights at Best Western hotels. Visit the booking portal, select your preferred dates and location, and choose “Rewards Points” as payment.
You can also visit the Rewards portal and select free nights under “Award Category.”
If you don’t have enough points, you can also choose to pay in points + cash.
Book An Award Flight With Partner Airlines
Points normally transfer at 5,000 points to 1,000 airline miles, which is a pretty decent conversion. However, some partners have lower conversions such as Flying Blue and Alitalia which requires 6,000 points for 1,000 airline miles.
Book An Experience
Witness the grandeur of the majestic Niagara Falls or treat yourself to a gastronomic experience in France – there’s surely an experience that’ll suit your taste.
Redeem For Gift Cards / Vouchers
We don’t recommend redeeming your points for gift cards since it doesn’t give you the best value.
For example, you’ll only get a $50 Amazon voucher with your 16,000 points if you redeem it towards gift cards.
However, you can get a free night for only 12,000 points if you redeem for award stays.
Among all the hotel loyalty programs, the Best Western Rewards program is the least complicated of all.
Its points do not expire and you can redeem towards stays, flights, gift cards, and experiences.
