JetBlue flyers have a lot of great options when choosing the best credit card for JetBlue flights. Things to consider are if you want free checked bags, trip delay insurance, airport lounge access, in-flight savings on food and drinks, and extra points on JetBlue.
To help you pick the right card, we’ve hand-picked the top credit cards for any JetBlue flyer, including three JetBlue cards from Barclays and seven other travel cards.
Best for Overall Value: JetBlue Plus Card
Best for Airport Lounge Access: American Express Platinum Card® (review)
Best All-Around Travel Card: Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card (review)
1. JetBlue Plus Card
Best for Overall Value
The JetBlue Plus Card delivers solid value for regular JetBlue flyers through its generous airline rewards and travel perks like free checked bags. The card’s benefits are heavily JetBlue-focused, making it a poor choice for travelers who frequently fly other airlines.
Welcome Bonus: Earn up to 80,000 bonus points (60,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days and earn 20,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 within the first year).
Earning Points: 6x points on JetBlue purchases; 2x points at restaurants and grocery stores; 1x points on all other eligible purchases.
Card Benefits: Free first checked bag for you and up to three travel companions, 5,000 bonus points each account anniversary, 50% in-flight savings, 10% points rebate when redeeming points for JetBlue flights, no foreign transaction fees, and Mastercard World Elite benefits.
2. JetBlue Business Card
Best for Business Travelers
The JetBlue Business Card offers strong perks for frequent JetBlue flyers, including 6x points on airline purchases and free checked bags. However, businesses that fly multiple airlines or want flexible rewards should look elsewhere since points are locked into the TrueBlue program.
Welcome Bonus: Earn up to 80,000 bonus points (60,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days and earn 20,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 within the first year).
Earning Points: 6x points on JetBlue purchases; 2x points at restaurants and office supply stores; 1x points on all other eligible purchases.
Card Benefits: Free first checked bag for you and up to three travel companions, 5,000 points each account anniversary, 50% in-flight savings, 10% rebate on JetBlue awards, $100 statement credit for JetBlue Vacations, no foreign transaction fees, and World Elite Mastercard benefits.
3. JetBlue Card
Best No-annual-fee Card
- Earn 10,000 Points Welcome Bonus After $1,000 in Purchases in the First 90 Days.
- 3x Points on JetBlue Purchases
- 2x Points on Restaurants and Groceries
- 50% In-Flight Savings on Food and Drinks
- No Foreign Transaction Fees
- No Annual Fee
The JetBlue Card is a basic airline rewards option that lets you earn TrueBlue points on everyday spending without an annual fee. The card keeps things simple with few perks but offers decent bonus categories and savings on inflight purchases for casual JetBlue customers.
Welcome Bonus: Earn 10,000 Points Welcome Bonus After $1,000 in Purchases in the First 90 Days.
Earning Rewards: 3x points on JetBlue purchases; 2x points at restaurants and grocery stores; and 1x points on all other purchases
Card Benefits: 50% in-flights savings, 0% intro APR offer, points pooling with friends and family, and no foreign transaction fees.
Other Cards for JetBlue Flyers
One of the biggest downsides to the three Barclays JetBlue cards above is the lack of trip delay insurance, which pays up to $500 per person for trip delays to pay for hotels, food, transportation, and other necessities.
JetBlue is one of the least reliable airlines, so I highly recommend a card with trip delay insurance, but also holding a JetBlue credit card for the perks like free bags and in-flights savings.
I made this mistake a few years ago by booking with my JetBlue Plus to get 6x points instead of 2x points with my Chase Sapphire Preferred. My flight was inevitably delayed, and the next available JetBlue flight was 3 days away, so I really could have used the trip delay insurance over the extra points.

The Verdict
If you fly a few trips per year on JetBlue, you should consider the JetBlue Plus or JetBlue Business for the perks like free checked bags, anniversary points, and in-flight savings on food and drinks.
But when booking JetBlue flights, I highly recommend booking with a card with trip delay insurance to protect yourself such as the Capital One Venture X, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or American Express Platinum.
