The American Express EveryDay Preferred card earns 3x points at U.S. supermarkets and 2x points at U.S. gas stations. Plus, you can get a 50% points bonus each month when using the card 30 or more times.
However, the EveryDay Preferred card has a $95 annual fee. The annual fee is worth it if you can maximize your spending at gas stations and supermarkets, and complete 30 transactions in a month.
But for most people, the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a better option. It has the same annual fee but offers more travel protections and 2x points on dining and travel.
