Amex Centurion Lounges are a network of luxury airport lounges operated by American Express.

These exclusive lounges are designed to provide a premium travel experience for select American Express cardholders.

Pro Tip:

Cardmembers who have access to Centurion Lounges can now view real-time information on the lounges' current occupancy levels through the mobile app. The app will indicate whether the lounge is categorized as: Not Busy, Slightly Busy, Very Busy, or Nearly Full.

How to Access U.S. Amex Centurion Lounges

To access American Express Centurion Lounges, you will need to hold one of these premium cards:

The Delta Reserve and Delta Reserve Business only provide access if (1) you are flying Delta Air Lines, and (2) you purchased the flight using your card.

The Platinum cards don’t have these same restrictions. All you need to do is hold the card.

You are also limited to access within 3 hours of your flight and arriving passengers without a connecting flight do not have access.

Guest Access to Centurion Lounge

You can bring guests into the Centurion Lounge, but it may cost you. The normal prices for guests are:

  • Guests 18+ are $50 per guest
  • Guests 2-17 are $30 per guest
  • Guests below age 2 are free.

You can bring in two guests complimentary if you meet this criteria:

  • Spend $75,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year on the Amex Platinum or Amex Business Platinum card (valid for the year you meet the requirement, the following year, and the next year until January 31st).
  • Hold the invite-only Centurion Card.

How to Access to International Centurion Lounges

International Centurion Lounges have different access rules:

  • Buenos Aires (EZE) = One complimentary guest and children under 16.
  • Delhi (DEL) = Two guests plus children under 12.
  • Hong Kong (HKG) = Same rules as U.S. Lounges.
  • London (LHR) = Same rules as U.S. Lounges.
  • Melbourne (MEL) = Two Guests or immediate family (spouse and children under 17).
  • Mexico City (MEX) = Two guests or immediate family.
  • Monterrey (MTY) = Two guests or immediate family.
  • Mumbai (BOM) = Two guests plus children under 12.
  • Sao Paulo (GRU) = One complimentary guest.
  • Stockholm (ARN) = One complimentary guest.
  • Sydney (SYD) = Two guests or immediate family (spouse and children under 17).

There are currently 16 Amex Centurion Lounges strategically located at major airports worldwide. Here is a list of their locations, amenities, and size.

Atlanta (ATL)

An American Express Centurion Lounge for Atlanta (ATL) is planned to open in 2024.

This will be the largest Centurion lounge in the world, with 26,000 square feet of space and several outdoor areas. Visitors here can enjoy gourmet food and craft cocktails, a bourbon bar, shower suites, private workspaces, and high-speed internet access, among other lounge features.

Strategically located in Concourse E, the lounge will be accessible to all passengers, given the airside connections between all terminals in Atlanta.

One of the standout features of this upcoming lounge is its multiple outdoor terraces, a first for any Centurion Lounge. These terraces will not only offer open tarmac views but will also include a garden terrace, drawing inspiration from Atlanta’s lush tree canopy, a nod to the city’s verdant landscape.

Charlotte (CLT)

The Centurion Lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport is situated between Concourses D & E on the mezzanine level, making it easily accessible to all gates at CLT.

The lounge operates daily from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM.

The lounge features a range of amenities, including a family room, high-speed Wi-Fi, personal workspaces, a premium bar, and a shower suite.

The culinary experience is enhanced by Southern-inspired modern cuisine crafted by Gregory Collier, a James Beard Award finalist.

Dallas (DFW)

The Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth Airport is conveniently located in Terminal D, across from Gate D12, and can be accessed from any terminal via the Skylink train.

The lounge is open from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM and offers a unique blend of luxury and functionality.

Denver (DEN)

The Centurion Lounge at Denver International Airport is located near Gate C46 on the mezzanine level, making it accessible to all gates in Concourses A, B, and C.

The lounge is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. It also offers a mountain-inspired ambiance, allowing guests to shoot pool, visit the Craft Beer Bar, or work in a space reminiscent of Colorado’s Red Rocks.

The lounge features amenities such as a game room, shower suite, and a dedicated work area.

The culinary offerings are inspired by Northern Italy, curated by James Beard Foundation Award-winning Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson.

Houston (IAH)

The Centurion Lounge at Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is situated in Terminal D, accessible via the elevator in the Duty Free Shop near Gate D6.

The lounge is open each day from 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM. Guests can expect a range of amenities, including a dedicated work area, a health & wellness space in partnership with Calm, high-speed Wi-Fi, a tranquility area, and a shower suite.

The culinary offerings are crafted by James Beard Award-winning chef Justin Yu, known for his Houston restaurant, Theodore Rex.

Las Vegas (LAS)

The Centurion Lounge at Las Vegas Airport is positioned in Concourse D, directly opposite Gate D1.

Accessible from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 via the transit system, the lounge operates from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Visitors can expect a blend of luxury and convenience, with amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, a shower suite, semi-private workspaces, and a premium bar.

Los Angeles (LAX)

The American Express Centurion Lounge at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) is located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal immediately past the TSA checkpoint and before the main atrium. 

You can reach the Centurion Los Angeles from Terminals 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 via a terminal connector walkway, and via an airside bus from Terminals 2 and 3. 

The lounge is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and is approximately 14,000 square feet.

The lounge boasts a day spa where guests can indulge in complimentary treatments such as massages and manicures. A highlight is the bar, which features a comprehensive cocktail menu, including the refreshing Venice Spritz.

The lounge also has specialized rooms like the Moonrise and Sunrise rooms, designed for relaxation and combating jetlag.

Miami (MIA)

The American Express Centurion Lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA) is located in the airport’s D Concourse near Gate D12 on the fourth floor.

To access it, travelers can take one of the two Amex-branded elevators, with ample signage guiding the way.

The lounge operates daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Spanning 12,300 square feet, the lounge boasts a variety of seating options, high ceilings, and large windows that offer impressive tarmac views.

Amenities include the Exhale Spa, which provides treatments like back massages and mini-manicures, a family room, and a well-appointed shower suite.

Additionally, the lounge offers a diverse range of food and beverages curated by James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein.

Newark (EWR)

The American Express Centurion Lounge at Newark (EWR) Airport is expected to open in 2026 in a new three-story building near the new Terminal A, initially housing United flights.

This addition means all three major New York airport hubs will have a Centurion Lounge. The Newark lounge, spanning 17,000-square-feet, will be the largest among all Centurion Lounges.

The lounge is expected to offer a 1,400-square-foot indoor terrace with views of the airport, Port of Newark, New York and Newark harbors, and the Manhattan skyline.

Inside, amenities include eateries, a piano lounge, a jazz-themed bar, a cocktail lounge, shower suites, kids room, premium restrooms, and areas for work and relaxation.

New York (JFK)

The Centurion Lounge at New York’s JFK airport stands as American Express’ flagship lounge, impressively spanning two expansive floors.

Located in Terminal 4, it’s prominently positioned right after the main security checkpoint. If you’re departing from another terminal, you will need to visit Terminal 4 first, then exit and re-enter security at your departure terminal. 

The lounge is approximately 15,000 and offers ample space for relaxation and work.

The lounge operates daily from 5:00 AM  to 10:00 PM and offers dedicated workspaces, a family room, and a unique ‘1850’ speakeasy bar offering a curated selection of drinks.

New York (LGA)

The New York LaGuardia Centurion Lounge is located at the revamped Terminal B after security. 

However, accessing the lounge can be a challenge if you’re not departing from Terminal B, which serves airlines like American, United, Air Canada, and Southwest. Since LaGuardia’s terminals aren’t interconnected airside, travelers from other terminals will need to clear security multiple times to reach this lounge. 

The lounge spans approximately 10,000 square feet, offering a spacious environment with distinct areas for relaxation, dining, and work. Its design incorporates ample natural light, enhancing the ambiance and making it a pleasant space for travelers.

As for its operating hours, the lounge is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday through Friday, and on Saturdays, it operates from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Philadelphia (PHL)

The Centurion Lounge at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is conveniently situated on the second level of Terminal A-West, near gate A14.

The lounge is accessible to all travelers, but if travelers from Terminal F will have to take a bus to the main Terminal.

The lounge operates daily from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM and is approximately 6,300 square feet.

Amenities include high-speed Wi-Fi, a buffet-style dining area with locally-inspired cuisine, a premium bar, personal workspaces, and a shower suite.

The food offerings are curated by award-winning Chef Michael Solomonov, known for his unique take on Israeli cuisine. Additionally, the lounge provides a panoramic view of the terminal through its floor-to-ceiling windows.

Phoenix (PHX)

The Centurion Lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is strategically located in Terminal 4, directly across from Gate B22 on the upper level.

The lounge operates daily, with hours from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

San Francisco (SFO)

The Centurion Lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is a spacious 16,000-square-foot lounge.

Conveniently situated in Terminal 3, adjacent to gates F1/F2, travelers can access it post-security from both Terminal 3 and Terminal G.

The lounge welcomes guests daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The lounge features a wine-tasting area, shower suite, and semi-private spaces. Culinary delights are crafted under the guidance of Chef Ravi Kapur.

Seattle (SEA)

The American Express Centurion Lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) in the Central Terminal, which is conveniently positioned amidst most of the gates operated by Delta and Alaska Airlines.

The lounge is open daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The lounge spans an impressive 14,000 square feet and can be accessed by taking elevators from the terminal, leading directly to the lounge that offers a panoramic view of the atrium space.

The lounge boasts a variety of areas, including a bar, a coffee station, a buffet section, and a spacious seating area adorned with panoramic windows.

The Centurion Lounge in Seattle stands out for its “Seattle Soul” menu, curated by renowned Seattle restaurant owner and James Beard Award semifinalist, Chef Kristi Brown. The menu pays homage to Seattle’s Pacific Northwest roots, offering dishes like “Peach Cobbla French Toast” and a variety of hot dishes like blackened chicken Cobb salad and Trinidadian spiced pork belly. 

A highlight for coffee lovers is the Centurion Lounge network’s first full-service coffee bar, Blue Roast by American Express, which serves made-to-order drinks from Seattle-based Caffè Umbria.

Washington (DCA)

The upcoming Centurion Lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is eagerly anticipated to open its doors in 2023.

This premium lounge will be strategically located in the Main National Hall, close to Terminal B, ensuring easy access after passing through security checkpoints.

Spanning a generous 11,500 square feet, the lounge promises a luxurious experience for travelers.

Guests can expect gourmet culinary offerings and a curated drink menu, the details of which are yet to be disclosed. The lounge will be equipped with premium restrooms and shower suites.

Additional features to look forward to include expansive airfield views and impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, enhancing the overall ambiance.

International Centurion Lounges

American Express has several international Centurion Lounges, but only two lounges, London and Hong Kong, are the same quality as the U.S. lounges:

Hong Kong (HKG)

The Centurion Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport is located in Terminal 1 on Level 7, it’s easily accessible just before Gate 60.

The lounge operates each day from from 9:00 AM to 12:30 AM and is approximately 8,000 square feet. It features many nice amenities, including shower suites, a dedicated work area, and a premium bar.

Guests can savor locally-inspired cuisine, with offerings such as Pan Fried Sole Fillet and Slow-Cooked Rack of Lamb.

London (LHR)

The Centurion Lounge at London Heathrow is located in Terminal 3 after security and  on the second floor of the “A Area” above the shops.

Covering an expansive 7,000 square feet and features nice amenities such as à la carte dining, a full-service bar, shower rooms, and a dedicated wellness room. 

It also features a menu curated by Michelin-star chef Assaf Granit and features dishes such as Festive Chicken, Fennel Moroccan Salad, Shikshukit, and Oh ‘My Baklava.
