The Amex Centurion Lounge at Denver International Airport (DEN) is located in the C concourse near Gate C46 on the mezzanine level. It is open from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily and covers 14,650 square feet.

Layout and Seating

The lounge has a unique horseshoe layout wrapped around frosted glass windows overlooking the concourse below. There are various seating areas, including loungers with tables, workspaces, high-backed cubicles for privacy, and cafe-style seating in the dining section.

The decor features rich woods contrasted with vibrant colors and stylish design elements like sculptural light fixtures. Natural light filters in through floor-to-ceiling windows on one side, offering tarmac views.

Strategically placed power outlets and USB ports allow guests to stay charged throughout the lounge. While the layout effectively divides the space into intimate nooks, walkways can feel cramped during busy periods.

Amenities

The lounge boasts an impressive array of amenities to enhance the travel experience.

Showers: Two shower suites are available for guest use by appointment at the front desk. Towels and amenities are provided.

Family Room: A private family room provides a cozy retreat with seating, a TV, and games for traveling families.

Phone Room: A single, reservable phone room allows guests to take calls in privacy.

Business Center: The business center consists of a printer that can be accessed via WiFi.

Game Room: Unique to this lounge is a dedicated game room featuring a pool table, shuffleboard, and oversized board games like Connect Four.

Food and Beverage

The dining experience aims to elevate the standard for airport lounges, though it occasionally falls short of lofty expectations.

Food: A cafeteria-style service offers pre-portioned dishes and other options include made-to-order pasta at a live cooking station, locally-inspired selections like Spanish omelets, and sweet treats like tiramisu.

Beverages: The lounge features two bars – a main bar pouring cocktails, wines, and beers complemented by a unique craft beer bar showcasing local Denver brews. Self-serve coffee stations dispense espresso and cafe beverages.

My Mini Review

The new Amex Centurion Lounge at Denver airport is truly a knockout in terms of size, aesthetics, and amenities. The airy, upscale design creates an inviting atmosphere accentuated by thoughtful touches like the game room.

However, the lounge can feel a bit disjointed in flow, with cramped corridors and separate food and drink lines. While the cuisine aims for local flair, the execution sometimes renders dishes lukewarm – a letdown compared to the hype.

Still, the attentive staff, abundant charging stations, and varied seating cater well to travelers. The crafty beer bar is a refreshing airport lounge perk. And families will appreciate the dedicated play space and privacy nooks.

During peak hours, the lounge can feel crowded despite its sprawl, with waitlists common. But those willing to arrive early can luxuriate in this impressive, contemporary hub before their Denver departures or connections.
